So this past Thursday was the grand opening of the Juried Photography Exhibit. Pretty much all of the Photography students at Radford submitted something into the show. I have to say that there are a lot of talented people here.
I decided to submit my alternative process pieces, which are images printed on leaves. They turned out so wonderful! Once I get a picture, of them, I'll post them up on DA.
The best news was that I actually won a prize for "Green Horizon." I really couldn't believe it! It was my first actual prize for a photograph in these contests. It really feels good and it really encourages me to keep on practicing with these leaves.
In other news, I am currently in the middle of a collection called The "Abandoned" Collection. I may go out and shoot more with this concept in mind so that I can publish a book within a few months. Also, I am developing a few more shots for the wedding portrait series.
So there's my update! I hope everyone is having a wonderful week!

What was the roommate situation? And do you two finally get the apartment to yourselves? Whatever it was, I'm really glad to hear that things are looking up!
I'm really sorry to see that he didn't get in a school this Fall, but that doesn't mean he can't try again in the spring
(This is a long message lol)
Zach told me that you are working as a nutritionist at a prison. I can see the frustration that you might have lol but think of it as positive. Who knows? Maybe that Soufflé you'll cook will change an inmate from a homicidal lunatic to an honest man lol. Well....maybe not....Maybe while you're working there, you can start thinking about starting a catering business of your own? Or try to contact Brandon's friend, Evan and ask about potential culinary careers that could be available.
Just keep your head high and everything will fall into place

Right now I'm trying to get a collection of photography together for my BFA Review as well as my Exit review...I decided that I wanted to graduate next winter instead of in the spring so that I could get some extra experience. It's been really great because the teachers are letting me come in as an assistant professor for some classes as well as letting me take care of the dark rooms. I just need to get my work schedule in order.
I'm really starting to feel the kick of 4 studio classes...everything is due at the same time! gah!
I've also been coming home every weekend trying to finish up the murals for Dabney's Bubbles n Brunch. I have until Oct 11 to have them done bleh! no time!
But I've been putting off reading for my art history class so I guess I need to get on it.
I'm really glad to hear that things are starting to turn around for ya
Love ya!
